The Role: As Senior Quality Engineer / Senior Quality Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind maintaining our production quality management systems ensuring products not only meet, but exceed, customer expectations and regulatory requirements. You’ll blend practical hands-on problem-solving with strategic oversight, working closely with design, production, and supply chain teams to embed a culture of quality throughout the operational business.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and develop production quality assurance processes in line with ISO 9001 and industry-specific standards.
- Establish and drive root cause analysis and implement effective corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Analyse quality metrics, produce reports, and present findings to senior leadership.
- Interact with other departments including suppliers and customers regarding quality matters.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on DFMEA/PFMEA to pre-empt potential failures.
- Support quality performance; manage audits, approvals, and improvement plans for the team.
- Line management responsibility for quality inspectors and colleagues, fostering technical and professional growth.
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Significant, hands-on experience gained in a batch manufacturing quality role, ideally within electro-mechanical production.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001; familiarity with IATF 16949 or AS9100 advantageous.
- Proven track record in problem-solving, statistical analysis, and process optimisation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation.
- Direct supervisory experience desirable as is the ability to lead without formal authority, although role is defined with potential growth into a management position for the team.
