About the role:
This important role requires a committed individual who will gain a thorough understanding Fortress products and the Fortress Supply Chain and Operations. This will involve gaining knowledge of Suppliers, Products, and Global Operational activity. You will be proactive and driven to support our business units to generate growth through your pragmatic and imaginative approach.
The successful Warehouse Manager will have previous experience in a similar role with team leadership experience. Those from a Stores and Despatch background will be considered especially if gained within a manufacturing environment. You will be used to different ERP tools, capable in Excel, Word, an effective communicator, organised and agile.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading and motivating the team to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner. To include, receiving goods to Stores and delivery to point of requirement according to scheduled and other demands & for Packing, Despatch and Shipping operations.
- Ensure inbound OTIF is maximized through prompt and accurate goods receipt.
- Positively influence Sales OTIF through making available raw materials and parts, right time and right place and pulling through Sales Orders to meet customer delivery targets.
- Effective management of stock holding ensuring optimization of warehouse locations to support the smooth flow of materials and goods to the point of use and outbound shipment of sales orders.
- Line management responsibility for the Warehouse team including, return to work meetings, team morale, KPI creation, performance reviews and appraisals meetings.
- Ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to by the team.
- Responsible for ensuring that H&S standards are maintained and adhered to at all times, involvement in conducting and creating risk assessments, reporting any hazards, near misses and incidents to the Production Manager and or H&S Manager.
- All aspects of inventory control to include physical and data aspects ensuring accurate and efficient movements within and external to automated vertical lift machines, associated software and integration with Fortress ERP system.
- Ensuring the inside and outside areas of Warehouse area, are kept clean, tidy and safe.
- Develop strong relationships with Fortress stakeholders globally.
- Engage with Operations, Procurement and Finance teams to effectively deliver best service to internal and external customers.
- Work effectively to support strategic customers
- Provide support for general supply chain and operational requirements.
Key Qualifications and Experience Required:
- You will have previous experience from a similar role with some leadership experience.
- Manufacturing background is likely to be preferred but other experience will be considered.
- You will be IT literate and those with experience of using ERP systems will be at advantage.
- Ideally you will have previously worked in a demanding warehouse environment with automated storage and enjoy a ‘hands on’ approach.
- Have high level of attention to detail.
- Have good presentation, written and oral communication skills.
- Have good organisational and time management skills.
- Have good level of computer literacy.
- Hold a driving license.
- Forklift license preferred (training can be provided).
- Committed to working harmoniously with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
