Due to our ambitious growth plans, we are on the lookout for an experienced and ambitious Junior Electronics Engineer.

As Junior Electronics Engineer at Fortress Safety you will support the design, test and implementation of hardware and embedded software to extend Fortress Safety’s product range. The role will involve working as part of the engineering and wider project teams to ensure Fortress Safety products meet the requirements of the customer and product standards.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain hardware and embedded software for use within Fortress Safety products.
  • Build prototypes.
  • Run effective testing and diagnostics that validate product requirements.
  • Assess and document products against specifications and standards.
  • Write instructions, reports, and handle other required administrative duties.
  • Coordinate with and assist other departments.
  • Observe existing processes and identify areas of improvement.
  • Show initiative and keep up with advancements in Electronics.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Degree or similar qualification in Electronics Engineering or comparable subject.
  • Experience in electronics hardware design, development, and testing; including PCB schematic design and layout. This includes experience gained whilst at university or similar.
  • Experience in embedded firmware design, development, and testing. This includes experience gained whilst at university or similar.
  • Experience in the use of laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multi meters, bench power supplies.
  • Understanding of new product development.
  • Understanding of EMC design and test.
  • Understanding of design validation process – FMEA, DFM.
  • Understanding of firmware unit, integration, and system testing.
