Due to our ambitious growth plans, we are on the lookout for an experienced and ambitious Electronics Engineer.

As Electronics Engineer at Fortress Safety you will design, test and implement hardware and embedded software to extend our product range. The role will involve working as part of the engineering and wider project teams to ensure Fortress Safety products meet the requirements of the customer and product standards.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Design and maintain hardware and embedded software for use within Fortress Safety new and existing products.
  • Observe existing processes and identify areas of improvement.
  • Assess and document products against specifications and standards.
  • Run effective testing and diagnostics that validate product requirements.
  • Coordinate with and assist other departments.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure projects are completed to specifications.
  • Write specifications, instructions, reports, and handle other required administrative duties.
  • Provide high level technical support for Fortress Safety products.
  • Show initiative in keeping up with advancements in Electronics.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Degree or similar qualification in Electronics Engineering or comparable subject.
  • Experience in electronics hardware design, development, and testing; including PCB schematic design and layout.
  • Experience in embedded firmware design, development, and testing.
  • Experience of EMC design and test.
  • Experience in new product development and product development processes.
  • Experience in the creation of supporting design documentation, development reports, BoM, build packs.
  • Experience in architecture design and architecture design tools.
  • Experience of firmware unit, integration, and system testing.
  • Experience of design validation processes – FMEA, DFM.
