Fortress Recruit is supporting a leading engineering organisation with the recruitment of an Offline CADCAM Programmer based in Havant. This is a hands on position within a low volume, high precision manufacturing environment, working on complex components and advanced CNC machining processes. Key responsibilities will include: • Creating offline CNC programmes for 5 axis mill turn machinery • Programming directly from engineering drawings and solid models • Producing tooling and machine setup sheets • Working closely with machinists to ensure programmes are accurate and production ready • Supporting machining activities across a range of complex materials • Contributing to continuous improvement across the manufacturing process • Supporting skills development and cross training within the team • Ensuring quality, safety and delivery requirements are consistently achieved • Working to tight production deadlines and resolving programming issues as they arise To be successful in this role, you will have: • Around 5 years' CNC programming experience within manufacturing • A strong machining background, ideally apprentice trained • Experience with 5 axis CNC and mill turn machining • Experience using Edgecam, Mastercam or similar CAM software • Mazak and Mazatrol programming experience • Solid Edge or similar CAD experience • Good knowledge of modern tooling, work holding and fixture design • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and programme from solid models • Experience working with materials such as Inconel 625, Duplex or NAB would be advantageous • Vericut or other anti collision software experience would be beneficial • Knowledge of ISO programming advantageous • Understanding of Lean, 5S and continuous improvement principles • Strong problem solving and communication skills • HNC/HND desirable, although relevant experience will be considered This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Programmer or CADCAM Programmer to join a technically advanced manufacturing environment, working on complex, high precision components within a global engineering organisation.
