Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver electrical design solutions across complete platforms, including cabinets, cable assemblies, and system-level cable routing.
  • Produce detailed electrical schematics, cable drawings, routing documentation, and supporting design artefacts in line with internal, customer, and industry standards.
  • Support verification and validation activities, including qualification testing.
  • Contribute to EMC, vibration, shock, and environmental testing activities, working closely cross-team during combined test campaigns.
  • Attend and support initial test activities to ensure designs are correctly implemented and tested.
  • Participate in design reviews, ensuring solutions are compliant, manufacturable, and fit for purpose.
  • Report on design progress, technical status, and workload against programme requirements.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • An Electrical Engineering degree, or HNC/HND with relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in electrical design within a regulated engineering environment (e.g. defence, rail, aerospace, or similar).
  • Considerable experience producing electrical schematics, cable designs, and system-level routing documentation.
  • Understanding of power and data integration, and EMC considerations.
  • Exposure to qualification and compliance testing, including EMC (hands-on EMC experience desirable but training can be provided).
  • Comfortable working in documentation-heavy environments, with a strong focus on traceability and design assurance.
  • Eligibility for SC Clearance (5 years’ UK residency with no visa or sponsorship requirement).
