Fortress Recruit is now looking for a talented Senior Electronics Design Engineer to work with a leading defence engineering organisation in Dorset. This role provides the opportunity to play a key part in the future development of established and trusted technology used across global defence and maritime applications. As many existing product platforms approach the next stage of their lifecycle, you'll help shape future solutions by evaluating emerging technologies, developing innovative design concepts and ensuring products continue to meet evolving customer and market requirements for years to come. Key responsibilities will include: * Designing and developing electronic hardware solutions from concept through to production * Supporting the redevelopment and enhancement of existing products, identifying opportunities to improve performance, reliability, manufacturability and lifecycle support * Producing electrical schematics, design documentation, engineering test plans and bills of materials * Contributing to product strategy and future technology roadmaps through innovative thinking and technical problem-solving * Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful product integration and delivery * Supporting prototype development, validation, testing, troubleshooting and technical reviews throughout the design lifecycle * Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical support * Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices across the business To be considered for this role, you'll have: * A Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience * Proven experience in electronic hardware design and development * A curious and innovative mindset with an interest in product development, continuous improvement and future technologies * Experience working across the full product lifecycle, from concept through to manufacture and support * Knowledge of analogue and digital electronic design principles * An understanding of testing, validation and product compliance requirements * The ability to produce and review technical design documentation * Experience using CAD design tools (Altium use would be beneficial) * Eligibility to successfully obtain Security Clearance (5 years' UK residency with no visa or sponsorship requirement) This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering organisation where you'll have the opportunity to influence the future direction of established products, contribute to next-generation developments and work on technology that supports critical defence and maritime operations worldwide.
