Fortress Recruit is now seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join a dynamic team delivering asset management and infrastructure solutions in the maritime and defence sector. This role is a combination of hands-on surveying with technical leadership, allowing you to influence long-term asset management strategies.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead structural inspections and appraisals across a variety of buildings and structures, including historic buildings, concrete frames, steel structures, masts, and towers.
- Produce detailed reports, specifications, feasibility assessments, and cost estimates.
- Provide expert advice to multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors.
- Manage delivery of remedial works programmes, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget compliance.
- Maintain accurate asset records and reporting in line with statutory requirements and H&S standards.
- Navigate building regulations, statutory requirements, and health & safety legislation.
To be considered for this role, you'll have:
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with IStructE or ICE membership (or with Chartership in progress).
- Strong experience in structural engineering, surveying, or FM environments.
- Knowledge of building construction, pathology, and condition surveys.
- Ability to produce thorough reports, appraisals, and specifications.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Health & Safety training (IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent).
- Eligibility for SC clearance (5 years' UK residency without visa or sponsorship requirement).
