Fortress Recruit is working with a Defence Manufacturer in the recruitment of Contract Electronic Design Engineer (Outside IR35) to support their team based on-site in Poole. This role centres on delivering electronic and electrical design activities for complex systems operating in demanding environments. You will contribute to the design, development, and support of reliable hardware solutions, working closely with crossâfunctional engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing electronic hardware, with a focus on power supply and electrical distribution
- Producing schematics and PCB layouts using industryâstandard CAD tools
- Preparing and maintaining technical documentation including specifications and BOMs
- Supporting integration, validation, and testing activities across the design lifecycle
- Providing engineering support for both new developments and existing systems
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- A qualification in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (HNC or higher)
- Proven experience in electronic or electrical hardware design
- Strong knowledge of power electronics and power distribution
- Experience working across key stages of the product lifecycle
- Eligibility for SC Clearance (5 years' UK residency with no visa or sponsorship requirement)
This is a contract role offered OUTSIDE IR35 with a competitive hourly rate, based onâsite in Poole, Dorset, supporting technically complex defence projects within an experienced engineering team.
