Join Fortrea´s Clinical Development team at our state-of-the-art Early Clinical Research Clinic in Drapers Yard Leeds. Our 65,000 ft² 100+ beds clinic (7 minutes walking from the train station) is the place where life-saving medicines begin their journey.
WHO YOU ARE
- You have recently completed your nursing studies,
- NMC registered,
- Ideally have some hands-on patient care experience in a hospital setting, in a fast-paced ward (i.e. A&E, ICU, etc.)
A plus: previous experience with Electronic Data Capture tools
A career in Clinical Research: from the hospital ward to the world.
As part of the Fortrea team, you will work with leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies at a vital stage of clinical development: determining the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of new drugs.
Your nursing skills will be crucial in ensuring the care and monitoring of participants during clinical trials and upholding the ethical conduct of the study. You will:
- Maintain a close, face-to-face relationship with participants, while growing your clinical skills.
- Engage with cutting-edge medical technologies and witness the development of life-saving treatments firsthand.
When a drug you´ve worked with is approved, you´ll know you´ve touched lives around the world.
ON A NORMAL DAY, YOU WILL…
Learn. And grow. No two days will be the same; and this is because you will be exposed to a wide variety of Therapeutic Indications and study designs (ascending dose, first-in-human, food effect, drug to drug interactions, etc.) And regardless of your projects, every day you will:
- Provide high-quality nursing diagnosis and care, and use your clinical judgment to respond to emergencies
- Based on your nursing assessment skills, observe participant well-being. Act upon and document adverse events.
- Obtain Informed Consent and educate participants about study procedures
- Administer investigational compounds, including parenteral medications
- Perform study related procedures such as cannulation, telemetry, holters, vital signs, ECGs, venipuncture and more.
- Collect and process biological samples according to the study protocol and Standard Operating Procedures
- Recording data promptly and accurately into electronic systems and Case Report Forms.
