Fortrea’s Clinical Research Unit in Leeds is a purpose‑built 65,000 ft² Phase I facility where life‑saving medicines begin their journey. Here, a modern clinic, laboratory, and cGMP research pharmacy sit under one roof, just 7 minutes from the train station. We are growing our Clinical Research Pharmacy team and hiring Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Technical Officers to support first‑in‑human and early clinical trials.

About The Job

This is a permanent, full‑time role, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with very occasional weekend work (typically under 4 hours, compensated with flexi time or overtime). You will work in a Phase I clinical research pharmacy, preparing investigational medicines just steps away from the participants receiving them.

What You’ll Do

  • Manufacturing sterile and non‑sterile drug products for Phase I human clinical trials.
  • Working under cGMP and GCP standards in a research setting, you’ll be hands‑on in drug production, helping ensure investigational medicines are safely prepared and ready for dosing just steps away from the participants.
  • Performing thorough maintenance and control of Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) / Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) Pharmacy Inventory Management records, ensuring the continued supply of any pharmacy stock items.
  • Supporting reception, use, supply, storage, packaging and disposition of API and IMP.

Who You Are

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council in the UK.
  • Pharmacy Technical Officer qualified to NVQ Level 2.
  • For both roles, you bring a proven track record of working in a fast‑paced and demanding hospital or industrial pharmacy setting, and/or have experience working in cGMP, GCP and/or GLP settings.
  • A plus: hands‑on experience in aseptic production /clean rooms.
  • If you are not yet GPhC registered but have relevant experience, we will support your registration.
  • Ability to live and work in the UK (we cannot sponsor for this role).
