Job Overview

The Designer liaises with consultancy teams and developers to create design concepts for interactive content (e. g., data display, presentation, or e Learning) that meet the client’s requirements and comply with brand guidelines (where necessary).

Develops and sources graphical elements for use in Word, Excel, and Power Point deliverables (e. g., user-friendly Excel models and dossiers).

Creates templates and lays out content for professional print (e. g., brochures, exhibition stands and conference posters)

The Associate Designer liaises with consultancy teams and developers to create engaging design concepts through developing and sourcing graphical elements that meet internal and external client’s requirements, and comply with brand guidelines (where necessary) for deliverables, including but not limited to:

  • Interactive content (e. g., data display, presentation, or e Learning)
  • User-friendly Excel models
  • Dossiers
  • Posters
  • Brochures or similar
  • Consulting templates

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Manage own projects/assignments on a daily basis – anticipate and act to avoid problems/delays in delivery of client deliverables.
  • Create UI designs that are effective, clear, and appealing taking into consideration the delivery format and intended audience.
  • Proofread content and prepare the designs for printing or production.
  • Provide innovative and creative solutions to meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Participate in client meetings as required (face-to-face, TC or Webex).
  • Explain thoughts and design approaches clearly and in plain English to people who are not designers.
  • Collaborate with consultancy teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Peer review of work of colleagues – both during development and as part of the testing phase.
  • Suggest areas for improvement in departmental processes as needed with possible solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with other Designers, Developers, and content writers to create user-friendly designs.
  • Understand the challenges of developers and adapt designs where necessary.
  • Maintain a library of commonly used assets/resources.
  • Actively contribute to team knowledge base – team player.
  • Keep abreast of current and relevant design trends.
  • Remain informed of current design guidelines for different platforms (e. g., i OS, tablet, online).

Qualifications (Minimum Required)

  • Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Art, or similar
  • Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.

Experience (Minimum Required)

·Proficient years’ of experience of screen and print design in a commercial environment.

·Proficiency in traditional Adobe Creative Cloud applications (e. g., Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Acrobat).

·Experience with other Adobe Creative Cloud applications (e. g., Dreamweaver, Flash, Bridge, Edge Animate, Reflow).

·Experience with Microsoft Office – including the creation of templates.

·Front-end design (Photoshop/Illustrator).

·Print design (In Design)

Preferred Qualifications Include

  • Experience with other Adobe Creative Cloud applications (e. g., After Effects, Dreamweaver, Edge Animate, Reflow

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Ability to work in an upright and/or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day
  • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipment
  • Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck
  • Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf
  • Light to moderate lifting and carrying, or moving of objects, including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs
