Fortrea's Clinical Research Unit in Leeds is where life-saving medicines begin their journey. You’ll be part of a team that asks one crucial question: will this new medicine be safe? If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, speaking with people and contributing to meaningful research while keeping flexibility in your schedule, this could be a great fit.
This is a Bank (0-hours) position, where work is offered based on clinic demand. Office-based job at our Drapers Yard Clinical Research Unit, just a 7-minute walk from the train station. Shifts are typically available Monday to Friday, also may include weekend, twilight and night. During busier periods, you could work up to 37 hours per week; however, the number of hours offered can vary from week to week depending on operational needs.
This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in a clinical research environment, supporting important studies while working flexibly around other commitments.
WHO YOU AREIdeally, you have experience of shipping packages or organising storerooms. You don’t need a scientific background or a degree. If you have great attention to detail and are practical, curious and keen to learn, we´ll provide full training to develop the technical skills you need.
You will need to bring:
- A good standard of general education
- You like things to be tidy and organised. You don’t like mess and you always leave your work place clean and ready for the next day.
- You have experience of working to deadlines and following instructions. You never cut corners.
- You have good communication skills both verbally and over email and are comfortable using IT systems.
From calibrating Lab equipment, monitoring temperature, and navigating global custom requirements, you will oversee the shipment of thousands of samples daily. Coordinate the storage and shipment of samples according to study protocol and Lab Manual requirements. Dispatch samples to external laboratories globally. Ensure adherence to correct shipping procedures in compliance with international regulations for biohazardous and dangerous goods.
