The Embedded Technology Lead enables and accelerates clinical development delivery through the strategic and operational application of technology. Embedded within client programs or accounts, this role serves as a trusted technology advisor and execution partner, aligning Fortrea’s digital capabilities with client objectives across Full‑Service Outsourcing (FSO), Functional Service Provider (FSP), and Software‑as‑a‑Service (SaaS) engagement models.
This role operates at the intersection of clinical operations, data, and technology, translating client and study needs into scalable, compliant, and fit‑for‑purpose digital solutions. The Embedded Technology Senior Manager partners closely with internal delivery teams and external stakeholders to ensure technology is effectively planned, deployed, and optimized to drive measurable business value, operational efficiency, and study outcomes.
Key to success is the ability to bridge strategy and execution—guiding technology decision‑making, managing implementation and adoption, and ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, data integrity standards, and Fortrea’s broader digital ecosystem.
Summary of Responsibilities:- Client Partnership & Embedded Delivery
- Serve as the primary embedded technology contact for assigned client programs or functional teams
- Build strong, trusted relationships with client stakeholders across clinical operations, data management, biostatistics, and IT
- Translate client needs into practical technology solutions aligned with Fortrea capabilities
- Assess client processes, pain points, and maturity to recommend appropriate digital solutions
- Shape and deploy technology strategies across:
- Clinical trial execution
- Data capture and management
- Study start‑up and site enablement
- Digital patient and site solutions
- FSO (integrated delivery and end‑to‑end accountability)
- FSP (functional support and point solutions)
- SaaS (technology‑led, product‑based offerings)
- Embed technology into clinical delivery models to increase efficiency, quality, and scalability
- Act as the liaison between Fortrea delivery teams, product teams, and third‑party vendors
- Support implementation planning, configuration, validation readiness, and adoption
- Identify and mitigate technology‑related risks and dependencies
- Drive user adoption through stakeholder engagement, training input, and feedback loops
- Measure and communicate value metrics (efficiency gains, cycle time reduction, quality improvements)
- Continuously refine solutions based on delivery experience and client feedback
- Ensure all technology solutions meet regulatory, data privacy, and security requirements
- Support audit readiness and inspection responses related to technology use
- Align with Fortrea SOPs, quality standards, and risk management frameworks
- FSO: Act as an integral part of the integrated program leadership team
- Own end‑to‑end technology enablement across studies or portfolios
- Drive consistency, scalability, and standardisation
- FSP: Deliver functional or technology‑specific expertise embedded within client teams
- Support defined scopes such as eClinical systems, analytics, or digital enablement
- Collaborate closely with client process owners
- SaaS: Support deployment and optimisation of Fortrea digital products
- Act as the bridge between client users and Fortrea product teams
- Enable configuration, onboarding, and ongoing value realisation
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- A minimum of 3 years experience in clinical development, CRO operations, life sciences technology, or digital health
- Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and technology ecosystems
- Proven ability to work in client‑facing, embedded, or matrixed environments
- Experience working across FSO, FSP, or technology‑led (SaaS) delivery models
- Familiarity with eClinical platforms, data solutions, or digital trial technologies
- Experience supporting global, multi‑study or portfolio‑level engagements
- Experience in change management and adoption of new technologies
