Fortrea is looking for a Biostatistician I to join our Biostatistics Team in Leeds. This position is an opportunity to start a career as a Biostatistician in clinical research. The approximate start date is June 2026 and the successful candidate will receive training on a wide range of topics, including SAS programming, statistical methods, and the drug development process, with a key focus on the analysis and reporting of clinical trials. The extensive training plan has been perfected over a number of years and will be provided by experienced staff, ensuring you have the best possible start to your career. Previous experience is not mandatory, as long as you have a solid understanding of Statistics at an academic level with a relevant degree.
Some tasks you will be expected to get involved with under the supervision of senior statistical staff are:
- Contribute to the statistical aspects of the study design, such as treatment randomization and sample sizes
- Generation of Statistical Analysis Plans for a range of trial designs
- Perform statistical analysis on clinical trial data and provide interpretation of the results
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure statistical integrity is maintained and timelines are met
The role will be fully office based in our new Leeds office, allowing you to thrive with expert support always on hand.
Education and Profile
- A minimum qualification of an MSc in Statistics or related field is required
- Some programming experience in SAS, R, or SQL is nice to have, but not a must
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- A collaborative work style, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to learn new systems and flourish in an evolving technical environment
