Assistant Network Engineer

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Network Engineer to support the design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates who have a basic understanding of networking concepts and are eager to grow their skills under the guidance of experienced network engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure
• Support troubleshooting of network connectivity issues (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi)
• Help configure and support network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls
• Assist with network documentation and inventory management
• Support network security tasks under supervision
• Respond to incidents and service requests using ticketing systems
• Escalate complex issues to senior network engineers
• Follow network and security best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
• Familiarity with networking hardware and protocols
• Understanding of OSI and TCP/IP models
• Basic knowledge of Windows and/or Linux environments
• Willingness to learn and develop hands-on networking skills
• Good problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

• Relevant education or training in networking or IT
• Exposure to Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment
• Entry-level networking certification (CCNA, Network+, or equivalent – completed or in progress)
• Familiarity with network monitoring or ticketing tools
• Internship or lab-based networking experience
