Our Head Office department is in the heart of Piccadilly and occupies the 5th & 6th floor of our beautiful flagship store. This central London location offers so much to explore including restaurants, bars, cultural sites, shopping and more, and only a short walk from the Green Park Tube Station and plenty of bus stops.
Responsible for managing and delivering store development projects within our diverse portfolio of retail formats beyond the flagship store. This role ensures that store development activities are delivered on time, within budget and to Fortnum’s standards. This includes managing store development for our satellite stores outside London, travel retail, wholesale environments, international expansion projects (excluding flagships) and pop-up formats.
Responsibilities- Project Management & Delivery
- Manage property related projects and ensure that there is a smooth, seamless project management process and delivery plan in place so that new sites are open on time, within budget and to the quality expected.
- Project manage internal and external resources to ensure project delivery is on track.
- Oversee the completion of due diligence for all property aspects of allocated projects.
- Manage stakeholder expectations by highlighting risks and requirements against defined plans.
- Responsible for delivering projects that meet the overall budget margin for projects and ensure planned cost targets are met or potential risks highlighted, so we remain with budget where possible.
- Present programme updates to the Lead Store Development Project Manager, Head of Property and Exec Team members.
- With guidance from the Lead Store Development Project Manager, developing accurate project metrics and completing project health checks – ensuring project programmes and budgets are developed to achieve the project requirements and track throughout the project lifecycle.
- Process & Governance
- Working with the Lead Store Development Project Manager to align the Store Development project process and ensure necessary governance is adhered to.
- Support the Lead Store Development Project Manager with delivery of the procurement strategy.
- Driving change, constantly seeking ways to optimise the best solutions to deliver project plans.
- Manage relationships with 3rd party project contractors and consultants.
- Where requested, ensure delivery on savings on business projects, through better sourcing and negotiations with suppliers.
- Manage assigned costing projects and the tendering process. Providing guidance on procurement, looking at areas of VE if required and assist with any site changes discussion in project delivery.
- Proven track record delivering complex retail, hospitality, or mixed-use store development projects, on time and within budget.
- Experience managing a portfolio of formats.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Experience managing third-party suppliers, contractors and cross functional teams.
- Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Can adapt to changing priorities and balancing different delivery needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Commercial acumen – skilled in negotiation and cost management.
- Resilient, adaptable and comfortable working at pace.
- Collaborative in working style with the ability to influence and communicate across all levels, including executive stakeholders.
