The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 ÂŁ per year.

Our Head Office department is in the heart of Piccadilly and occupies the 5th & 6th floor of our beautiful flagship store. This central London location offers so much to explore including restaurants, bars, cultural sites, shopping and more, and only a short walk from the Green Park Tube Station and plenty of bus stops.

To collaborate with the designers in packaging and product design to develop manifestations of the brand to drive sales and profitability whilst communicating and reinforcing a unique and compelling brand proposition and ensuring brand image and consistency is always preserved.

Key Accountabilities
  • Take NPD projects and work closely with the buying team to bring a product range to market. This includes one-off products that are created for partners and specific occasions.
  • Assist with the commission and briefing of Designers, Agencies, and In-House Stakeholders. To include the creation of design briefs that meets the Fortnum & Mason requirements of Tone of Voice.
  • Ensure a consistent representation of the Fortnum & Mason brand across all materials, to include the accuracy of design and reflection of the brief.
  • Ensure that packaging meets the high standards that Fortnum & Mason expect.
  • Undertake detailed checking of all artworks before being sent to printers to check for Tone of Voice, spelling errors, artwork set up etc.
  • Work with the Buying and VM teams to ensure that products are displayed on shelf for maximum impact.
  • Deliver design brief objectives, with spend aligned to commercial ROI, and cost management objectives, by ensuring all design briefs are coordinated through the annual marketing calendar and with appropriate budget control.
  • In collaboration with Buying, Creative, VM, PR, Retail & Hospitality Ops, be responsible for communicating and overseeing the end-to-end design process, in-store for retail marketing campaigns, product launches, and events.
  • Conduct regular reviews of competitor activity in product, packaging, and design to drive through recommendations on improvements to support increases in sales.
  • Work closely with the Marketing, Online, Food Technology and International Managers to ensure product information is available in a timely manner, for PR and other purposes.
  • Establish and maintain exemplary relationships with all key stakeholders.
  • Ad hoc duties and projects, as and when required by the business.

Role Specific Essential and Disable Criteria (Experience/Behaviours/Technical Ability)
  • Ideally creative - thinking of new ways to create unique designs that have meaningful impacts on customers.
  • Ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Experience of design and project managing critical paths within Retail in a multi-channel environment.
  • Understanding of the management of the 3rd Party Contractor and/or Supplier of Design services.
  • Confident communicator with an ability to persuade and influence in a collaborative way.
  • Demonstrating an established adaptable working style, so you can manage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Tenacious, with the ability to problem solve and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of Design and print processes in particular critical paths to efficient service delivery.
  • Strong resilience and an ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Has strong commercial acumen in every decision, which ensures profitability through better supply management and cost management.
  • Financial and Budget Management experience is desirable.
  • Demonstrate an authentic and passionate understanding of the brand and brand values.
  • Experience in an environment with a strong Customer Service ethos.
  • Demonstrated skills in packaging, print agency liaison in the area of materials, product development, sustainability, and customer packaging strategy.
  • Produce detailed evaluation of all design marketing campaigns versus pre-determined KPIs, sharing with relevant colleagues and applying learnings to future activities.
  • Will have come from print, design, or creative background.
