Responsibilities include leading the Indirect Procurement team, driving procurement strategies, embedding category management and initiatives that enhance cost-effectiveness and deliver significant cash savings. Develop and maintain effective measures of procurement performance and use them to target and drive continuous improvement, e.g., KPIs and savings trackers.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including merchandising, marketing, facilities, IT, legal, people and finance teams, to align procurement objectives with business goals. Oversee and develop robust sourcing processes for all external products and services to ensure they are fit for purpose, agile, and efficient. This will include early involvement of legal and procurement functions, supplier onboarding and lead-time from initiation to order.

Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to achieve favourable terms. Implement and monitor performance metrics to evaluate supplier performance and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure a seamless transition to NetSuite, leveraging the new system to streamline procurement processes and reporting.

Coach other members of the team on best practice procurement and support the head of Procurement in delivering and updating the target operating model for the procurement function. Bring in new insights to improve the way Indirect operates as well as insights to support finding opportunities and risks in key high-risk category areas.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) or MCIPS qualified.
  • An experienced procurement professional, who understands what 'good' looks like within both process and practice, with the ability to turn this into strategy and execution.
  • Strong demonstrable experience in indirect procurement category management, with a strong focus on IT spend optimisation.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering significant cash savings and improving EBITDA through procurement strategies.
  • Exceptional negotiation, people management and contract management skills, with the ability to influence and build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A confident and personable demeanour, ensuring approachability and effective communication.
  • Experience with transitioning to new Finance/Procurement systems.
  • Excellent Excel skills with the ability to manipulate data and present it in a way to identify opportunities for the business.
