The Electronics Calibration & Repair Technician performs a wide variety of calibration tasks to process shipments of instruments to customers in line with provided product specifications. This role also includes diagnosis/repair of customer equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Calibrate a wide variety of Fluke Process Instruments equipment to ensure adherence to defined specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure that customer units returned for calibration are maintained in an as‑found state and tracked through the Fluke System.
- Diagnose faults with customer products and replace components to restore prime operating conditions, as required.
- Manage the workflow on assigned calibration system(s) to maximize throughput and meet customer lead‑time requirements.
- Adhere to defined processes in the assigned work area, including Standard Work Instructions, 5S Standards, Safe Systems of Work, or Engineering Drawings.
- Train fellow Operatives/Technicians on defined processes as requested by the relevant Supervisor, where appropriate.
- Enter relevant data onto any registers requested by the Service Supervisor or required by Fluke Quality policies.
- Suggest and/or implement process/product improvements using the FBS (Fortive Business System) toolset to improve KPIs such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost.
- Participate in the creation, review and implementation of new procedures/work instructions, including suggesting improvements to currently issued procedures.
- Prepare calibration certificates for review/approval from the designated approver, as required by the Service Supervisor.
Additional Information
- A portion of time may be spent attending required meetings, trainings, 1:1 reviews, and performance appraisal reviews as communicated by the Production Team Leader.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement events (Kaizens) or other applicable events, as communicated from time to time.
- Participate in Daily Management meetings to report achieved results and manage business expectations.
Position Scope
- Receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review.
Interaction
- Interaction normally involves exchange/movement of Fluke product but may include feedback/requests for technical support from Technicians.
- Interact daily with the Service Supervisor to define priorities and escalated issues as required for proper performance of the role.
- Interact with other members of the Fluke Management team as needed, with primary management contact remaining with the immediate Supervisor.
- Interact with Metrology/Engineering for assistance/guidance in the calibration lab to ensure product is produced to the required specification.
Equipment Maintenance
- Spend a portion of time on maintenance/calibration/measuring of manufacturing equipment as defined by the Production Team Leader. This may include, but is not limited to, EHV High Voltage (>40kV testers), testing jigs/equipment, and ESD furnishings subject to appropriate training & authorizations.
