Responsibilities:

  • Assess existing products/processes and identify automation opportunities, constraints, and required design changes.
  • Design, develop, and integrate automation solutions (robotics, tooling, test/inspection) into existing manufacturing workflows.
  • Define interfaces between product, fixtures, and control software; partner with design and hardware teams to enable automation readiness.
  • Implement sensing and inspection (vision, force/torque, basic analytics) to improve quality and reduce manual steps.
  • Validate and troubleshoot automation in production: safety, cycle time, yield, uptime, and maintainability.
  • Create and maintain requirements, commissioning/validation records, and user documentation for long‑term support.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in one or more automation‑focused languages/tools (e.g., Python, C/C++, LabVIEW) and version control.
  • Multiple engineering disciplines – Mechanical, Electronic, Electrical.
  • Hands‑on experience integrating industrial automation (robotics/automated assembly solutions) into manufacturing.
  • Evidence of past projects.
  • Working knowledge of controls integration (PLC/HMI, I/O, sensors/actuators, pneumatics).
  • Strong understanding of assembly and test manufacturing, including process development, validation, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem‑solving, continuous improvement and communication skills; able to translate factory needs into clear technical requirements.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with commissioning and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ or equivalent) and risk assessment (PFMEA).
  • Experience with motion systems and/or machine vision for inspection and error‑proofing in a production setting.
  • Exposure to manufacturing data collection (traceability, OEE, basic dashboards) and system connectivity where needed.
