I’m working with a leading UK engineering and building services contractor to recruit a Mechanical Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer for a major decarbonisation project on a large education estate in Leeds. This is a flagship scheme focused on modernising mechanical infrastructure, reducing carbon, and future-proofing buildings in a live environment. It’s a technically challenging project with real sustainability impact and long-term value.
The Opportunity
You’ll play a key role in delivering mechanical packages on site, ensuring works are engineered to specification, delivered safely, and aligned with programme and commercial objectives. You’ll be working closely with project leadership, design teams, and specialist subcontractors.
Key responsibilities
- Promoting and maintaining a strong safety-first culture on site
- Reviewing scope of works to ensure full alignment with client requirements
- Identifying and managing project risks and opportunities
- Supporting the design, procurement and delivery of engineering solutions
- Managing specialist subcontract packages (safety, quality, progress and cost)
- Providing accurate progress reporting to project and commercial leads
- Supporting commissioning, close-out and handover activities
- Building strong working relationships in a live education environment
About You
I’m keen to speak with engineers who have solid experience in mechanical building services delivery within construction, particularly on complex or regulated projects. You’ll likely have:
- An industry-recognised mechanical qualification
