We are seeking a dedicated Spinal and Orthopaedic Physio (inpatient) to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to inpatients, aligned with Fortius Clinic's enhanced recovery pathways and best clinical practices. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective and efficient orthopaedic treatment that supports optimal recovery outcomes and upholds our commitment to clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective orthopaedic care to inpatients and outpatients, ensuring high clinical standards.
  • Assess, plan, and implement treatment in line with enhanced recovery pathways.
  • Manage a personal caseload, prioritising clinical needs and ensuring timely discharge or onward referral.
  • Fit and educate patients on post-operative braces and mobility aids.
  • Participate in weekend and shift rotas, including cross-site working.
  • Maintain professional development and contribute to team learning.
  • Liaise regularly with the Lead Physiotherapist and wider clinical team.

Departmental & Organisational Duties

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and equipment safety, reporting issues promptly.
  • Support departmental efficiency by assisting with additional duties during busy periods.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory training and organisational policies.
  • Contribute to service delivery through team collaboration, training, and regular meetings.
  • Participate in appraisals and uphold clinical governance and risk management standards.
  • Maintain accurate, professional documentation in line with HCPC and CSP guidelines.

Communication

  • Represent Physiotherapy in multidisciplinary meetings and liaise effectively with clinical teams.
  • Communicate clearly with patients and carers to support safe and effective discharge planning.
  • Maintain open communication with the Physiotherapy Lead and colleagues on professional matters.

Health & Safety

  • Adhere to hospital Health & Safety policies to ensure a safe environment for all.
  • Report and record any incidents or near misses promptly.

Training & Education

  • Engage in ongoing professional and multidisciplinary training.
  • Maintain a CPD portfolio, reflecting learning and development activities.
