Fortius Clinic is hiring a Charge Nurse/ Sister to lead their Outpatients Department in London. This role pays up to £50,000 depending on experience. The Outpatients department is open Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 20:00. Successful candidates will work a range of long days and short days, with the flexibility to choose part of their shift pattern.

About Fortius: Fortius Clinic is the UK’s largest private orthopaedic group, committed to providing the very best in orthopaedic and sports injury care. The three outpatient and diagnostic sites are based in Marylebone, City, and Wimbledon.

The highly motivated post holder will provide clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing and multi-professional team, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care. The post holder will be responsible for providing feedback on the evaluation of good and poor practices to team members, ensuring effective role modelling and mentorship to the team, and taking a proactive role in quality and service improvement. A key part of the role is developing the team and the services to ensure staff have the appropriate skills and attributes for the best patient experience. The post holder will work closely with one other outpatient Sister to ensure all sites are managed effectively, primarily at Marylebone and Wimbledon.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (NMC)
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an outpatient department or ward as senior staff nurse or above
  • Clinical expertise and competence in orthopaedic specialty
  • Sound knowledge of CQC standards and responsibilities
  • Experience of delivering an efficient effective service within budgetary constraints
  • Excellent communication and diplomacy skills
  • Ability to develop and implement short- and long-term plans for the clinic
  • Strong people management skills, evidence of supervision and staff development
  • Ability to lead and maintain evidence-based practice
  • Ability to independently prioritise and organise resources
  • Experience conducting audits
  • Post registration qualification relevant to practice (e.g., orthopaedics, pre-op assessment, teaching and assessment - ideal)
