Position Overview
This position provides advice in the development of the Annual Contracting Plan through extensive modeling of resources and solutions to support least-cost portfolio, while also considering reliability, environmental impact, and regulatory requirements. As a technical expert, contributes annually to the regulatory filings, and is responsible for the ACP development and commercial transactions related to Revelstoke (propane) service area.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee advanced modeling and forecasting to optimize system costs, evaluate resource mix, conduct scenario analysis, manage risk, and ensure regulatory alignment.
- Develop the Annual Contracting Plan (ACP) to deliver the optimal supply mix (pipeline, storage, peaking) using market insights and technical expertise.
- Support and lead regulatory applications and filings (e.g., LTRP, RRA, CPCN), while managing transportation assets and stakeholder relationships.
- Provide strategic analysis, market insights, and cross-functional collaboration to support energy supply planning, infrastructure development, and operational needs, including the Revelstoke propane service area.
What it takes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field, plus 5+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination).
- Strong knowledge of the energy market, regulatory processes, and advanced modeling and forecasting tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights.
- Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with proven ability to develop complex analyses and plans using tools like MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
