A fast-scaling insurance claims business is looking for a Technical Claims Team Lead to take ownership of a growing team of specialist claims handlers. The business is expanding at real pace, with growth measured in multiples rather than percentages, and this role carries a level of ownership and visibility you won't find in a large, established insurer. Every employee holds equity, and the culture is genuinely open, with leadership drawn from senior insurance backgrounds at some of the fastest-growing names in fintech.
The Job
- Lead and grow a team of claims handlers, taking full ownership of performance, coaching and people management as the team scales.
- Set the standard on KPIs and output, keeping the team performing and improving.
- Manage workload allocation and capacity planning to balance productivity with quality.
- Run quality checks across claims files and coach the team to continuously raise standards.
- Keep close oversight of the wider claims portfolio spanning areas such as complaints, quality assurance, fraud, recoveries and payment controls, flagging risk early.
The Person
- Proven claims leadership experience within insurance, with a track record of managing and developing a team.
- Strong grounding in complaints handling and quality assurance is essential; experience in fraud, recoveries or payment controls is a bonus.
- Breadth across product lines (for example motor, property and travel) is highly valued; a career built entirely on one product line is unlikely to be the right fit.
- A background handling high-volume, fast-turnaround claims rather than large or complex loss claims.
- TPA experience, or comfort working across multiple accounts and product lines at once, is a strong plus.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, scaling business, and happy to learn a new claims platform quickly.
- Confident using data to guide decisions and spot trends.
- A natural coach, able to lift others' performance and output.
- We're equally open to candidates operating above a typical Team Lead level today, if you're looking for room to grow into a bigger scope.
The Offer
- Full-time Permanent Job with remote flexibility (must be based within the UK for employment tax reasons) = you must have full UK employment rights – visa sponsorship is not available.
- Salary £60k - £70k DOE, flexible on this for exceptional talent.
- Generous annual leave entitlement.
- Company Pension.
- Private health insurance.
- Bonus and equity options.
- Excellent career growth potential.
