Base pay range
Well established Prop Trading Firm is looking to build out its non-APAC business in its London office by hiring a Volatility Trader.
The ideal candidate will have a sell-side background, strong execution skills, and a demonstrated ability to generate PnL in volatility strategies.
The Opportunity:
- Managing and executing mid-frequency, semi-systematic volatility strategies
- Analyzing and optimizing the volatility surface (skew, term structure, implied vs. realized vol)
- Developing and refining trading signals using systematic and discretionary inputs
- Risk management and capital allocation to maximize Sharpe-adjusted returns
- Leveraging quantitative tools to enhance trade execution and decision-making
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience trading volatility strategies on the sell side (investment bank, market maker, dealer) with proprietary risk-taking experience
- Strong understanding of options pricing, Greeks, and derivatives risk management
- Ability to trade variance swaps, gamma scalping, dispersion trading, tail hedging, and volatility arbitrage
- Proficiency in Python, R, or C++ for strategy development and execution
- Comfortable working in a semi-systematic, mid-frequency trading environment
