A growing engineering consultancy operating within the UK water sector is seeking a CAD Technician to support its technical delivery team. This role involves producing and maintaining accurate engineering drawings and documentation for infrastructure and treatment-based projects. Working closely with engineers, designers and project leads, you will convert technical concepts into clear, compliant drawings that support successful project execution from design through to completion.

What You'll Be Doing

Your work will centre around the preparation, coordination and revision of technical drawings within live infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Producing 2D and 3D drawings from engineering specifications and design mark-ups
  • Updating and managing drawing revisions in line with project development
  • Maintaining structured drawing registers and document control systems
  • Ensuring drawings align with relevant UK regulatory and industry frameworks
  • Supporting design reviews and incorporating technical feedback
  • Assisting project teams with drawing modifications as scopes evolve
  • Using industry-standard CAD software to deliver clear, accurate outputs

About You

To succeed in this role, you'll demonstrate strong technical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a project team environment.

Essential / Preferred Experience

  • Minimum 1.5 years' experience in a drafting or CAD-based position
  • Experience within utilities, infrastructure, construction or engineering environments is advantageous
  • Relevant qualification or certification in CAD, engineering design or a related discipline

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in recognised CAD platforms (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Civil-based modelling software or similar tools)
  • Strong document control and revision management awareness
  • Understanding of UK-based engineering standards (or willingness to develop knowledge in this area)

  • Highly detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy

Location & Working Arrangements
