Senior Electronics Engineer

The Opportunity

Are you a Senior Electronics Engineer who enjoys getting hands-on with hardware and seeing your designs become real products?

This is an opportunity to join a growing technology business developing advanced electronic products for the global healthcare and aesthetic technology markets.

You'll be working on products that combine power electronics, embedded systems and precision control, with your work contributing directly to high-performance equipment used by professionals worldwide.

You'll have the chance to work across the full product lifecycle, from early design and prototyping through to validation, manufacture and ongoing product improvement.

If you like variety, enjoy solving difficult technical problems and don't want to spend your career working on just one small part of a product, this could be a great fit.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Senior Electronics Engineer, you'll work as part of a multidisciplinary R&D team, contributing to both new product development and improvements to existing platforms.

  • Design, develop and validate electronic systems with a strong focus on reliability, manufacturability and cost.
  • Develop improvements to existing products, identifying opportunities to reduce component and manufacturing costs.
  • Design with production, assembly, calibration, maintenance and serviceability in mind.
  • Support new product introduction and work closely with manufacturing and quality teams.
  • Investigate technical issues, carry out root-cause analysis and implement effective design improvements.
  • Ensure products meet relevant regulatory, safety and EMC requirements.
  • Develop test equipment, fixtures and development jigs to support product development and manufacturing.
  • Work with UK and international manufacturing partners throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Carry out hands-on PCB testing, component-level fault finding, rework and laboratory prototyping.
  • Produce technical reports, test documentation and engineering records to support product development and compliance.

What We're Looking For

You don't necessarily need experience in every area below.

What's important is that you're a capable, hands-on Senior Electronics Engineer with strong fundamentals and the curiosity to tackle technically challenging products.

You'll ideally have experience with several of the following

  • Switched-mode power supplies and modern power electronics.
  • High-power RF generation and associated circuitry.
  • Power Factor Correction (PFC).
  • Embedded microcontroller-based systems.
  • Wired communications interfaces and protocols.
  • EMC-conscious electronics design and compliance testing.
  • Fault-tolerant or safety-critical electronic systems.
  • Hardware and embedded firmware verification and validation.
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout, ideally using Altium Designer.
  • PCB assembly, component-level troubleshooting and rework.
  • Laboratory prototyping, test equipment and electronic development fixtures.
  • Working with regulated products and standards such as IEC 60601 or equivalent.

Why This Role?

This is a role for an engineer who wants to be close to the technology.

You'll have the opportunity to influence how products are designed, manufactured, tested and improved, rather than simply receiving a specification and designing to it.

You'll work alongside software, manufacturing and quality specialists, giving you genuine exposure to the wider product development process.

If you're a practical Senior Electronics Engineer who likes understanding why something isn't working, getting the equipment out, finding the fault and then making the product better, this could be a very good next move
