The predicted salary is between 30 - 30 Β£ per hour.

Fortis recruitment are working with a brilliant engineering company to recruit a CNC programmer to join their team based in Basingstoke.

This is initially a temp / contract position with the strong possibility of the role becoming permanent after 12 months.

Ideally you will have worked with mill / turn machines and programmed them for turning.

We are looking for a CAD/CAM programmer, ideally with experience in Solid CAM and Solid Works – although experience with other CAM programs would be considered.

The CNC programmer will support the programming, prove-out and optimisation of complex precision machined components.

The successful candidate will have strong experience with multi-axis/multi spindle mill/turn machining, offline programming, tooling selection, fixture/workholding considerations, and process improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC Programmer within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with mill/turn CNC machines.
  • Ability to program complex turned features, including multiaxis machining
  • Experience using offline CAM software such as Solid CAM, Mastercam, Hypermill, Powermill or similar.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T and 3D CAD models
  • Strong understanding of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, workholding and machining strategy

This is a Monday to Friday day shift.

Suitable candidates would include those that are looking for a permanent position but are happy to start as a long term temporary work OR contractors that would look at a 6 -12 month contract.

The position is paying up to Β£31.50/hr on PAYE DOE and we have some flexibility for contractors working through a ltd or umbrella company.
