My client, a leading manufacturing company based in Basingstoke, is looking to recruit an Assembly Technician on a full‑time, temp‑perm basis (over a 12‑week period). After the 12 weeks the role will become permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Assembly, service and repair of electrical/mechanical components and sub‑assemblies on a small scale.
  • Assembly electrical/mechanical components including pneumatics and hydraulics using drawings and work instructions.
  • Self‑inspection and testing.
  • Final inspection of finished goods with a strong commitment to quality.
  • Pick parts and kits required to carry out tasks.
  • Determine service level required and undertake service as per agreed schedule(s).
  • Determine repairs required and undertake as per the return request.
  • Acquire spare parts as required for repair technicians.
  • Create requests to return product to customer, stock, service stock or for scrap.
  • Liaise with NPD on the development of new products for Assembly, Service and Repairs requirements.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Have assembly experience (ideally mechanical).
  • Have good attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions / drawings.
  • Able to use manual hand tools.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage own workflow.

Hours and Pay

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 and 07:30 – 12:30 on Fridays, covering a total of 39 hours per week. Hourly rate of £13.93 per hour is on offer for the right candidate after a successful interview.
