If you enjoy designing high-performance hardware that pushes technical boundaries, this is where your designs come to life. This role is built for engineers who love solving complex hardware challenges and creating high-speed digital systems that perform in demanding real-world environments. You’ll be designing custom electronics from the ground up, working on sophisticated products where performance, signal integrity and reliability are critical. If you enjoy taking a concept through to fully functioning hardware—from schematic capture and PCB layout through to bring-up, testing and optimisation—this is the kind of role where your work will have genuine impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing and developing high-speed digital hardware for complex embedded systems
  • Creating schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer
  • Developing hardware for technologies including motor servos, video processors and advanced digital interfaces
  • Working with high-performance communication standards such as Ethernet, CoaXPress and HD-SDI
  • Designing with a strong focus on signal integrity, EMC compliance and long-term reliability
  • Supporting the full product development lifecycle—from requirements analysis and concept development through to implementation and installation
  • Performing hardware bring-up, fault-finding and debugging at component and board level
  • Verifying PCB functionality through detailed testing and analysis
  • Supporting embedded software development through hardware-level integration and debugging
  • Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complete system solutions

This is a role where your designs move beyond the schematic and become real, high-performance products.

The Kind of Electronics Engineer Who Thrives Here

You’re someone who enjoys diving deep into complex digital hardware challenges. You’re naturally analytical, technically curious and comfortable balancing detailed circuit-level design with wider system-level thinking. You enjoy solving difficult technical problems, refining designs through testing and iteration, and working closely with software and systems engineers to bring products together. You take pride in building hardware that performs exactly as intended.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong experience in high-speed digital electronics design
  • Solid understanding of signal integrity and EMC-conscious design
  • Proven experience with schematic capture and PCB layout, ideally using Altium Designer
  • Hands-on hardware debugging and testing experience at component level
  • Strong fault-finding and technical troubleshooting capability
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within engineering teams
  • Degree in Electronics Engineering (or similar numerate discipline), or equivalent practical experience

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in any of the following would be highly beneficial:
  • Video systems and associated standards
  • Digital control systems and control theory
  • High-speed interface design and validation
  • Embedded systems integration
  • Real-time hardware/software interaction

Why This Role Stands Out

This role offers the chance to work on technically challenging products where your expertise in high-speed digital design will directly influence product capability and performance. You’ll have ownership across the full hardware lifecycle, exposure to advanced technologies, and the opportunity to work on products that combine sophisticated digital design with real-world application. For engineers who want hands-on technical depth, meaningful design ownership and the chance to build genuinely advanced hardware, this is an excellent opportunity.
