Fortis is a leading producer of IBAA (Incinerator Bottom Ash Aggregate), producing a sustainable aggregate which has been widely used in construction for over 20 years, and has been approved by the Environment Agency, Highways England and a number of local authorities. Fortis IBAA is a high quality aggregate product produced from waste that would otherwise go to landfill, helping to preserve natural resources, lower carbon footprint of construction and divert municipal waste from landfill.
We are seeking to appoint a Site Operations Manager at our state of the art IBA Processing Facility at Ridham Dock. Reporting to the General Manager, the Site Operations Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of the facility, with particular focus on health, safety and environmental compliance, operational performance and efficiency. The role will also provide proactive leadership to and be responsible for the management and development of an established operational team. The successful candidate will also champion a culture of continual improvement across all aspects of the operation.
The successful applicant will be required to:
- Lead and inspire the highest standards of Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality culture, performance and compliance.
- Manage, lead and develop the site's operational team to deliver agreed throughput and yield KPIs.
- Ensure site facilities and process equipment are maintained to ensure ongoing safe and efficient performance.
- Manage relationships with key external stakeholders to ensure excellent service levels are maintained.
- Contribute to the developments and execution of budgeting, strategic planning and continual improvement activities to provide class leading performance.
Candidate requirements:
- A proven track record managing high volume, highly automated production processes in a relevant sector.
- Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
- Good organisational skills developed within a highly regulated industry and experience implementing and executing standard work are essential.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Relevant Health and Safety and environmental qualifications are desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and a proven track record of quarry or aggregate recycling facility management is also desirable.
- WAMITAB Non-Hazardous waste transfer/treatment desirable.
