About The Role

- Collaborate with the Technical Director to translate the game’s vision into clear technical guidelines, best practices, and quality standards.
- Develop milestone content and realistic production schedules in collaboration with product managers and producers.
- Identify and prioritize technical debt through data‑driven analysis, ensuring long‑term code health and maintainability.
- Oversee incident response, ensuring timely triage and resolution of live issues, while maintaining service uptime and player experience.
- Support rapid iteration while safeguarding performance, stability, and scalability.
- Create and review technical design documents to guide architectural decisions and educate the wider team.
- Occasionally contribute to code (e.g., small fixes or features) to stay close to the system and provide hands‑on technical leadership.
What You'll Need To Be Successful
- Proven experience leading backend or server engineering teams within game development, ideally across all stages — from prototyping to live operations.
- Strong understanding of Unity3D Engine.
- Strong background in scalable and highly available system design, including experience deploying software to the public cloud (AWS preferred).
- Solid fluency in C# and modern web app development with .NET.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript (Node.js) and shell scripting (bash).
- Experience with relational (MySQL) and non‑relational (Redis, DynamoDB) databases.
- Proficiency in debugging complex systems and identifying root causes under pressure.
- Familiarity with agile management practices (Scrum, Kanban) and tools such as Jira, ClickUp, or Asana.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills — capable of structuring complex information and aligning cross‑disciplinary stakeholders.
- A proactive, independent mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- A passion for crafting reliable, performant systems that elevate player experiences.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with distributed systems frameworks like Orleans or similar Actor Model concepts.
