About the role

This key design position involves owning major game features and collaborating closely with senior designers and product leaders to develop innovative systems. You will also mentor a talented team of game designers, encouraging creativity and excellence.

What you’ll achieve

• Design core systems essential for our new games, ensuring they align with design pillars and influence player behavior.
• Create detailed proposals and specifications for cross-functional teams.
• Guide content creation, tuning, and live operations within these systems.
• Become an expert in relevant game genres and mechanics, sharing insights to enhance team knowledge.
• Develop a personal design philosophy that reflects Fortis’ approach while innovating in service design patterns.

What you’ll need to be successful

• A comprehensive understanding of game systems and their impact across product and player lifecycle.
• Strong grasp of design principles, metagame systems, economies, and player psychology.
• Proficiency in Unity from a design perspective, familiarity with Google Sheets, GitHub, and content integration.
• Ability to translate system designs into data-driven implementations.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate complex concepts and synthesize feedback for rapid iteration.
• Extensive knowledge of games as a service and live operations, with experience in creating efficient design workflows.
• A passion for mentoring and elevating team members.
• A curious mindset and eagerness to learn, valued over years of experience.
