Description

Objective

Sales Operations at Fortinet manages systems and databases used by all the employees in Sales plus other departments.

Over the past 10 years the data architecture and decisions from Sales Ops meant that our BI tools became first class, we are looking for someone to help us with the continuous search for better technologies.

A core part of this role is helping build out our AI capabilities – the data infrastructure you administer will increasingly serve as the foundation of LLM powered tools.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain API Jobs: our data comes from different places at Fortinet, most of these processes are written in Python, the successful applicant will be expected to maintain, improve and add new processes.
  • Database work: we currently run most of our data under Microsoft SQL, we also leverage Mongo and Postgres.

You will be expected to maintain ETL scripts and other SQL Queries that make our BI Tool (Tableau) operate.

We also expect you to manage indexing, cleanups and good performance practices.

  • Exploring new solutions: you will be expected to proactively review and help assess new tools that can make our processes better and faster, as technology changes and LLMs become more frequently used, we need to make sure our databases can handle future workload.
  • Enable AI capabilities: you will play a key role in building and maintaining the data foundation that powers AI and LLM-based tools across the organization.
  • CRM Work: even though we don’t work inside the CRM, you will be expected to understand how a CRM works and how sales uses a CRM, this will be helpful when importing datasets and understanding how to build efficient queries for sales.
  • Investigative approach: the applicant must have the instinct of being curious, our team is continuously learning new technologies and building new applications for sales, we expect you to keep up and bring new ideas.

Required Skills

  • Strong Python for building and maintaining data pipelines, API integrations, and automation scripts.
  • Advanced SQL, with hands-on experience in RDBMS and data lakes.
  • Experience monitoring database systems for capacity and performance.
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining ETL processes feeding BI/reporting tools.
  • Database performance tuning: indexing strategy, query optimization, data cleanup, and general good-hygiene practices.
  • Experience with Tableau as a data source owner, not just a report consumer.
  • Working understanding of how CRMs operate and how sales teams use them (Salesforce experience a plus), enough to model and import sales datasets sensibly.
  • Comfort integrating and consuming REST APIs from varied internal and third-party sources.

Location

  • Candidate should be in the London Metro area.

However, other locations in Europe will be considered if the ideal candidate is identified.
