As a Lead Mitigation Technician, you will take charge on emergency restoration projects for families and businesses affected by fire, water, mold, sewer, and storm damage. You lead the crew, set the standard for safety and professionalism, and ensure projects are executed efficiently and in accordance with company and IICRC standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and supervise mitigation crews on residential and commercial job sites.
- Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess property damage caused by fire, water, mold, and weather‑related events.
- Perform and oversee water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation services in accordance with IICRC standards.
- Develop drying plans and monitor progress to ensure proper equipment placement and moisture goals are met.
- Remove and dispose of damaged building materials safely and efficiently.
- Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected interior spaces.
- Collaborate with the Contents Division to clean, pack, and store salvageable items.
- Document job progress through photos, moisture readings, and detailed notes using PSA and other required software.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, adjusters, and internal teams.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
- Ensure proper setup, operation, cleaning, and storage of tools and equipment.
- Train and mentor Mitigation Technicians to uphold quality and safety standards.
- Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols, including daily documentation of consumables and equipment use.
What You’ll Bring:
- Required:
- IICRC WRT certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
- Prior experience in restoration, mitigation, or construction.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a crew and manage job site workflow.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in varying environments.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong social awareness and customer service mindset.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to navigate Microsoft Teams and complete onsite documentation using a smartphone and industry software (Proven Jobs, Encircle, Docusketch).
- Team‑oriented mindset with a positive, solution‑focused attitude.
- Preferred:
- ASD (Applied Structural Drying) certification.
- Experience with PSA or similar job management platforms.
- Experience training or mentoring team members.
