People Manager .
The People Manager provides full life-cycle human resource and talent development support for the organisation, acting as a strategic business partner to the local management team by analyzing, recommending, developing and implementing people programs, in alignment with Group guidelines and long-term strategy, while taking care of day-to-day HR operational activities.
Fortidia UK is a multi-brand operation encompassing
Mail Boxes Etc., World Options UK, and Pack&Send UK , with headquarters in Accrington, Directly Operated Stores (DOS) across the UK, and a Master Licensee operation in Ireland.
The People Manager plays a critical role in navigating this complex, multi-location, multi-brand environment with confidence and strategic insight.
In this specific role, the People manager will report directly to the People Vice President in Milan and functionally to the local Country Manager.
Compensation
Starting salary from £48,000 to £55,000 + MBO and benefits.
Final compensation will depend on experience, skills, and internal equity criteria aligned with our compensation framework.
- Main tasks and responsibilities
- Act as a strategic HR business partner to the Country Manager, providing people-focused insights and recommendations that drive business success across all three brands and locations.
- Manager all HR-related topics and key processes, from workforce budget to recruiting, performance management, development & learning, welfare & compensation.
- Enhancing and implementing the recruiting strategy to attract and hire best in class candidates for positions in UK across multiple functions including (but not limited to) sales & operations, finance & accounting, marketing and technology.
- Contributing to develop and execute Organisational & People Growth initiatives and projects (e. g.
Employee Satisfaction survey, talent development, succession plans, implementation of HR Global Guidelines & Policies, training initiatives, etc.), while working effectively in matrix and international structures.
- Accountable for operational HR activities such as the administrative parts of hiring processes (drafting contracts, mandatory communications, pension funds, updating systems, etc.) – hands-on execution is a key part of this role.
- Acting as a point of reference on HR-related issues for all the colleagues in UK&IR (+ 70 people), located in Accrington, and other locations across the operation.
- Monitor and identify learning needs, as well as executing learning and programs; measure and track learning and training performances.
- Travel approximately 10% of the time to visit stores, offices, and group locations to understand the business landscape, build relationships, and ensure HR consistency across the multi-brand operation.
Requirements
- University-level degree with record of strong academic performance.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in HR management and operations, with demonstrated business impact.
- Robust knowledge of local employment law requirements.
- Operational excellence: hands-on, pragmatic approach to getting things done; comfort with both strategic work and detailed operational delivery.
- Leadership and influence: confident in guiding and coaching managers, able to maintain professional independence without being swayed by operational pressures.
- Experience working in multi-unit, multi-brand, or matrix organisational environments.
- Strong ability to analyse data and problem solving, eye for detail.
- Excellent organisational skills, with a talent to manage tight deadlines and switching priorities.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Advanced user of MS Office Products (Excel + Power Point) and Google suite.
- Collaborative spirit, with appreciation of diverse perspectives.
