We are recruiting a Commercial Finance Business Partner / Rebates Manager to join our head office in Ibstock, Leicestershire on a temp to perm basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively across a matrix organisation to address performance challenges and capitalise on opportunities.
- Use expertise, professional judgement and influencing skills to develop meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Take the lead on the budgeting/forecasting process and partner with Commercial providing guidance to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting of volumes, price and rebates.
- Work closely with Divisional accounting teams to validate assumptions on cost and profitability.
- Work closely with Commercial to maximise price opportunities in market.
- Oversee provision and settlement of rebate accruals, payments and provision of insight data to customers.
- Proactively consider profitability improvement strategies and work with the business to reach effective solutions.
- Use analytics and trends to identify operational drivers for financial variances and influence commercial decision making.
- Support and challenge on NPD costings and projects.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
- Matrix management experience.
- Prioritise and manage workload, whilst adhering to tight deadlines.
- Flexibility and resilience under pressure.
- Proactive self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, across all levels, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial colleagues.
- Collaborative working with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Problem solver with the ability to work alongside Commercial teams to deliver strategic goals.
- Ability to influence and challenge supportively at a senior level.
- Managing vast, often contradictory datasets from multiple systems, with precision.
- Highly IT literate with experience of ERP, Cognos and Data Warehouse tools, with advanced proficiency with Microsoft packages (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
- Thorough understanding of business drivers and trading conditions with a proven ability to use insight to identify trends and make recommendations to Commercial teams.
- Detailed understanding of the use of rebates as a price incentive mechanism and interpretation of commercial agreements to ensure accurate calculation and provisioning.
- Sales forecasting and budgeting with ability to challenge underlying assumptions.
