Role Overview: Production Team Leader at Dewsbury factory (Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury, WF12 9EF).
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements.
- Collect and interpret production data, including downtime, for accurate reporting.
- Provide cover where appropriate to maintain maximum machine output.
- Ensure team members follow defined manufacturing procedures and meet quality requirements.
- Maintain equipment calibration and verify all systems are functioning correctly.
- Follow escalation procedures for quality concerns.
- Monitor and maintain all safety equipment, tools, and H&S checks.
- Train operators.
- Monitor time and attendance, escalating issues to management.
- Input IMS data, NKD, check sheets, and compliance checks (fire extinguisher, fire escapes, LEV, mist air, First aid).
Key Duties:
- Ensure effective communications between shifts to maximise factory performance.
- Monitor over-manning and utilise resources effectively, ensuring enough personnel are trained.
- Chair morning team meetings and daily production meetings when required.
- Help identify improvements and highlight them to the Engineering Team and Production Manager.
- Encourage and promote teamwork at all times.
- Identify and solve problems using resources under your direct control.
- Understand the operation of each machine to a standard where you can run the machines if required to cover breaks or train personnel.
