Senior Integration Architect - SAP Regen Programme
The SAP Regen programme is a multi-year transformation focused on migrating and modernising HMRC's integration estate to strategic platforms, enabling the transition from SAP ECC to S/4HANA. The programme includes large-scale API and integration migration, driving standardisation, simplification, and alignment to a clean-core architecture.
Role Overview
As a Senior Integration Architect, you will work within the Integration Migration workstream, reporting to the Lead Integration Architect. You will be responsible for designing and delivering integration solutions for specific domains or API groupings, contributing to the overall architectural direction while ensuring high-quality, consistent delivery across the programme.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver integration solutions migrating from Legacy platforms (eg, SAP PI, webMethods) to strategic platforms such as HIP and SDES, aligned to programme standards.
Define API specifications and integration patterns, including conversion of Legacy SOAP services to modern RESTful APIs.
Apply API-first and domain-driven integration approaches to support reuse, decoupling, and long-term maintainability.
Contribute to end-to-end solution design, ensuring alignment with S/4HANA clean-core principles and wider programme architecture.
Embed modern engineering practices including shift-left testing, CI/CD, automation, and AI-assisted delivery techniques.
Support the identification and management of technical risks, dependencies, and migration sequencing considerations.
Collaborate closely with engineering teams, product owners, and SMEs to ensure designs are implementable, scalable, and supportable.
Contribute to architecture governance, documentation, and design assurance processes led by the Lead Integration Architect.
