A growing technology consultancy delivering secure cloud and software solutions into highly regulated public sector environments is looking for an IT Systems Administrator to join its internal technology team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong Google Workspace and cloud administration experience who enjoys working across infrastructure, security, identity management, and internal IT operations within a modern remote-first environment.
The Role: You'll be responsible for supporting and maintaining the organisation's core IT systems, cloud environments, and access management processes, while contributing to wider security and compliance initiatives. The role combines hands-on systems administration with cloud support, user management, and operational security responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Google Workspace, including user provisioning, permissions, groups, and security settings.
- Manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and identity management across internal systems and SaaS platforms.
- Support AWS cloud infrastructure, including IAM, EC2, and S3 administration.
- Maintain VPNs, endpoint management systems, and internal connectivity.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and user issues across cloud and remote environments.
- Conduct security audits, patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance-related activities.
- Support ISO27001 aligned security processes and documentation.
- Deliver internal IT support and user guidance across the business.
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience in IT Systems Administration or similar roles.
- Strong Google Workspace administration experience.
- Good understanding of RBAC and least-privilege access principles.
- Experience supporting AWS environments.
- Familiarity with ISO27001 or similar security frameworks.
- Scripting or automation experience (Bash, Linux, Python etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Desirable Experience:
- AWS or Google Cloud certifications.
- Experience with Azure or GCP.
- Mobile Device Management (MDM) experience.
- Exposure to secure or regulated environments.
- Basic coding or automation capabilities.
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC), including having lived and worked in the UK for the last 5 years.
