The Department of Health and Social Care is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Lecturer in Health and Social Care to support learners across SCQF Levels 4-7. The successful candidate will deliver high quality learning, teaching and assessment within Health and Social Care programmes, producing engaging learning materials and contributing to an excellent learner experience.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will support the development of innovative teaching approaches, including the effective use of learning technologies, while ensuring curriculum content remains current, relevant and responsive to sector needs. You will also contribute to curriculum development activities and provide effective academic and pastoral support to learners. A strong learner-centred approach is essential.

Applicants should be educated to at least degree level, hold current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration and have significant industry experience within healthcare settings. Experience of supporting students in practice placement settings alongside strong organisational and ICT skills is essential. Experience of teaching or supporting learning, whether within current employment, Further Education or adult learning, would be advantageous.

Ideally, candidates will hold Assessor and Verifier qualifications together with a teaching qualification such as the Professional Development Award in Teaching or the Teaching Qualification (Further Education) or be willing to work towards achieving these qualifications. You will also demonstrate a sound understanding of health and safety requirements, quality enhancement processes and sector standards. Experience of delivering industry training within healthcare provision would be highly desirable.
