Forth Valley College is seeking a Director of Curriculum in Care, Sport, Business and Communities to join the Leadership & Management Team. This pivotal role will provide strategic leadership for a diverse curriculum portfolio and will be responsible for driving high-quality learning, teaching, curriculum innovation and operational performance across the Directorate. This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape the future direction of curriculum delivery within one of Scotland's leading regional colleges, supporting learners, employers and communities through innovative, responsive and industry-aligned provision.
What You'll Be Doing
- Curriculum Leadership: Lead the strategic planning, development and performance of the Care, Sport, Business and Communities Directorate, ensuring alignment with College strategic priorities, regional skills demands and national policy agendas.
- Curriculum Innovation & Quality Enhancement: Drive innovation in learning, teaching and curriculum design, including flexible, blended and digitally enhanced delivery models, while leading continuous quality enhancement and improvement activity.
- Performance & Operational Management: Lead Directorate performance against key targets including recruitment, retention, attainment, progression and credit delivery, using data and KPI information to inform improvement and decision making.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain productive relationships with employers, schools, universities, NHS partners, local authorities and community organisations to support curriculum relevance, progression pathways and regional workforce development.
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead and manage Curriculum Managers and associated teams, creating a high-performing culture which supports collaboration, innovation, accountability and staff development.
- Governance & Resource Management: Oversee Directorate budgets, staffing resources, compliance, quality assurance and risk management to ensure effective, sustainable and efficient curriculum delivery.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Proven leadership and management experience within further education, higher education, training, workforce development or a related sector.
- Curriculum & Sector Expertise: Strong understanding of curriculum planning, quality enhancement, learner outcomes and employer engagement within a tertiary education environment.
- Leadership & Influence: Ability to engage, motivate and influence stakeholders at all levels, with excellent communication, strategic planning and people leadership skills.
Essential Qualifications:
- A degree or professional equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline or significant relevant specialist experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Teaching qualification.
- Management or business qualification.
- Postgraduate qualification.
- Full driving licence.
