Forth Valley College's Apprenticeships, Skills & Commercial Department is seeking a Work-Based Assessor in Health & Social Care, preferably with a clinical background, to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting and assessing candidates undertaking Health & Social Care qualifications. The ideal candidate will have relevant, current industry experience and a strong knowledge and understanding of Health & Social Care (Clinical) practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver workplace guidance and support to candidates in compiling and presenting a comprehensive portfolio of evidence that meets the qualification's performance criteria and evidence requirements.
  • Conduct fair, safe, and reliable assessments of candidates' skills and knowledge in their respective workplaces.
  • Maintain excellent communication and IT skills to effectively manage interactions, records, and documentation.
  • Demonstrate a strong passion for your professional discipline, with the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage your workload independently.
  • Inspire, encourage, and motivate candidates, fostering an environment conducive to learning and professional growth.
  • Actively participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary assessment team, contributing to the continuous improvement of assessment processes and practices.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with external organisations and employer partners, demonstrating a professional and approachable manner.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven, relevant, and up-to-date hands-on industry experience, preferably within Clinical Health & Social Care disciplines.
  • Exceptional communication and IT skills.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for mentoring and supporting skill development within the Care Sector.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and effectively manage personal workload.
  • A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel to employer premises.
