Forth Valley College's ASC team delivers high-quality vocational qualifications and Modern Apprenticeships in partnership with employers, awarding bodies and sector organisations. We are now seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Assessment Manager to lead and quality-assure our engineering vocational qualification portfolio.
The Role
- Lead and support a team of assessors and verifiers.
- Manage awarding body compliance and coordinate verification activity.
- Oversee management and e-portfolio systems, ensuring accurate registration, tracking and achievement.
- Monitor achievement rates to meet Skills Development Scotland (SDS) Modern Apprenticeship requirements.
- Drive standardisation and continuous improvement across assessment practice.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
- Provide advice to employers and candidates on vocational programmes.
- Support staff recruitment, induction and development.
About You
You will be organised, enthusiastic and quality-focused, with strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team. You will enjoy problem solving, working with partners and ensuring an excellent experience for learners and employers.
Requirements of the Role
- Industry competence in a relevant discipline.
- HNC/HND (or equivalent).
- Strong experience in work-based learning and assessment.
- D32/33, A1/V1, LD9DI/LD11 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of vocational qualifications, MA frameworks and SDS guidelines.
- Knowledge of Workplace Core Skills and quality assurance processes.
- Experience with e-portfolio, management systems.
- Confident IT user with excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and support a team.
