Forth Valley College's Apprenticeships, Skills & Commercial Department is looking for a Health & Social Care work based Assessor to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting and assessing candidates within Health & Social Care disciplines. The ideal candidate will have proven, relevant, current industry experience, and knowledge and understanding of Health & Social Care and hold current Assessor/Verifier Award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Apprenticeship, Skills and Commercial team, you will be responsible for delivering workplace guidance and support to candidates, assisting them in compiling and presenting a comprehensive portfolio of evidence that meets the performance criteria and evidence requirements of their vocational qualification.
  • You will conduct fair, safe and reliable assessments of candidates' skills and knowledge in their respective workplaces, and facilitate the delivery of underpinning knowledge in a workshop environment.
  • Working collaboratively with the team, you will contribute to the planning, facilitation and evaluation of these workshops.
  • Strong communication and IT skills are essential to effectively manage documentation and interactions.
  • You will demonstrate a passion for your professional discipline, with the ability to manage your workload independently, work under tight deadlines, and inspire and motivate candidates in a supportive learning environment.
  • As an active member of the Multi Discipline assessment team, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of assessment processes and practices.
  • A professional approach when dealing with external organisations, along with the ability to coach and build rapport with vocational candidates, is essential.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven, relevant, and up-to-date hands-on industry experience in Clinical Health & Social Care disciplines.
  • Exceptional communication and IT skills.
  • Strong workshop facilitation skills.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for mentoring and skill development within the Care Sector.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and effectively manage personal workload.
  • A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for frequent travel to employer premises.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a recognised Assessor Award/ Verifier Award.
