We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Gym Assistant to join our Leisure Facilities team.
\n
You will support the day-to-day operation of the College gym, ensuring a safe, welcoming and professional environment for all users. You will provide gym inductions, demonstrate the correct and safe use of equipment, develop suitable fitness programmes, monitor users' progress and provide information on fitness, nutrition and healthy lifestyles.
\n
You will also help maintain a safe and clean environment, prepare equipment for use, support the delivery of fitness activities and sessions, contribute to risk assessments, and report equipment faults or building and cleaning issues promptly.
\n
Essential Criteria:
\n
A minimum of HNC in a fitness-related subject area.
\n
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
\n
The ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
\n
A positive, organised and adaptable approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
\n
A commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety and service delivery.
\n
Desirable:
\n
Experience of working within a gym, conditioning suite or similar environment.
\n
Experience of supporting gym users and developing fitness programmes.
\n
You will be a good communicator, listener and motivator, with a strong customer-service focus and a genuine interest in helping gym users achieve their fitness goals safely and effectively.
