About Us
Forth Resource Management is the company behind Caledonian Horticulture—creating a growing range of peat-free composts, soil improvers and landscaping products made here in Scotland. We work with local authorities and partners to recycle green waste and transform it into high-quality products that help people grow healthier gardens, improve soil, and take on outdoor projects with confidence. Sustainability isn’t a slogan for us—it’s how we operate. By repurposing waste, we support the circular economy, reduce landfill, and aim to make better use of the resources already around us. As a business established in 2002, we’ve grown from a single composting site into a wider operation supplying customers across the south of Scotland, while staying focused on quality, innovation, and doing the right thing for people and planet.
Our environmental commitment goes beyond our products. Through our One Planet Pledge, we take practical steps such as fuel offsetting, tree planting and supporting community composting—and we’re equally committed to tackling the growing issue of plastic pollution. We’re proud to support and collaborate with projects like The Scottish Coastal Clean Up, helping communities remove marine litter and protect Scotland’s coastline. In 2025, we built on this partnership by producing our first documentary, Shaping Our Shores, celebrating the people behind the clean-ups and the collective action protecting Scotland’s shores for generations to come.
The Role
We’re entering an exciting new chapter for the Caledonian Horticulture brand, with a programme of new marketing projects and campaigns planned throughout 2026-2027. To help bring these to life, we’re looking for a proactive and creative Digital Marketing Coordinator to help shape and deliver content-led marketing across our digital channels. This role is primarily focused on planning and executing campaigns across Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn—creating engaging content that builds our community, strengthens brand awareness and supports sales. You’ll also take ownership of our customer newsletters and help keep our website fresh and informative by producing and publishing blog content and updates.
Working closely with the Head of Marketing and supporting our Sales & Marketing Assistant, you’ll take ownership of our content calendar—planning what we share, when we share it, and how it ties back to wider campaigns and business goals. You’ll bring fresh ideas, spot content opportunities, and turn them into high-quality written and visual assets that strengthen the brand, grow and engage our community, and support sales across the year.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage a rolling content calendar across Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
- Create, schedule and publish engaging content (posts, carousels, stories, short-form video)
- Support digital campaign planning and delivery (seasonal pushes, product launches, events, brand storytelling)
- Monitor and respond to incoming messages/comments on social media and escalating customer queries where needed
- Maintain consistent brand tone, messaging and visual style across all channels
- Produce strong, on-brand creative assets for social, email, and blog.
- Use Canva confidently and bring experience with design tools such as Photoshop (or equivalent)
- Support the Head of Marketing with basic video editing for social and help create short-form clips for campaigns
- Attend occasional in-person days for content capture (photography/filming/events) when required
- Plan, build and send customer newsletters (copywriting, layout, scheduling and reporting)
- Support list management, segmentation and continuous improvement through testing
- Write and publish blog posts for the Caledonian Horticulture website
- Apply basic SEO best practice (keywords, headings, internal linking, meta descriptions)
- Track performance using platform insights and analytics (engagement, reach, clicks, growth)
- Share learnings and recommend improvements to content and campaign performance
- Create marketing materials
- Capture leads for our newsletter via competitions and leafletting
What We’re Looking For
- 2–3 years’ experience in digital communications, content marketing and/or social media coordination
- Strong writing skills: confident producing captions, newsletters and blog content
- Strong graphic design skills with a great eye for layout, typography and brand consistency
- Canva experience (required) and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, InDesign) experience (highly desirable)
- Good understanding of Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn best practice
- Organised and comfortable managing deadlines, schedules and multiple projects
- Able to work independently (remote-first) while collaborating with the wider team
- Comfortable using MS Teams & Hubspot as primary means of internal communications
- Interest in sustainability, gardening/horticulture, or outdoor living (a plus)
