At Forth Ports, we keep trade, logistics, and infrastructure moving. Every day, our teams support the flow of goods, materials, and services that businesses and communities rely on, helping to power economic growth across the UK and beyond. Our people are at the core of everything we do, and their expertise, commitment, and innovation drive our success.
With our commitment to reach carbon neutrality by 2032 and Net Zero by 2042, we’re investing heavily in sustainable and digital technologies, including major growth in offshore wind and greener port operations. For you, this means joining a business that’s evolving, ambitious, and making a real difference.
About The Role
As Cruise and Security Coordinator, you will support the planning and delivery of cruise vessel visits across Forth Ports’ Scottish cruise operation, helping to ensure safe, efficient and seamless operations while delivering an excellent visitor experience. Working closely with the Cruise and Security Manager, Asset Managers, Port Operations teams, security providers and wider stakeholders, you will coordinate cruise activities, support ISPS security compliance and ensure all operational and visitor arrangements are in place for successful vessel visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordination of the full Scottish cruise schedule, working closely with Asset Managers and Port Operations teams to ensure the effective delivery of cruise vessel visits.
- Support ISPS security requirements across cruise operations, maintaining accurate documentation, participating in security drills and exercises, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Liaise with the Security Provider, PFSOs, DPFSOs, vessel representatives, shipping agents and relevant authorities to ensure safe, compliant and efficient cruise operations.
- Support and coordinate cruise volunteer and security teams, ensuring they are prepared, appropriately briefed and maintain a professional standard during vessel visits.
- Organise and deliver positive visitor experiences, including arranging cultural activities, local tourist information and appropriate facilities for visitors requiring additional assistance.
- Support contingency planning for cruise visits, including alternative arrangements for adverse weather conditions, accessibility and visitor comfort.
- Assist with end of season reviews, working with the Cruise and Security Manager and Asset Teams to evaluate performance and identify opportunities to improve operational processes, visitor experience and security protocols.
- Support the monitoring of cruise operations against profit and loss targets, working with Finance and Port Teams to ensure accurate vessel charging and prompt payment of invoices.
- Assist with the promotion of Capital Cruising through social media and stakeholder engagement, working with PR firm and the Tilbury Cruise Team to showcase successful events and positive visitor feedback.
- Support plaque exchanges, PR activities and other events involving visiting cruise vessels, helping to promote Forth Ports and enhance the visitor experience.
What We're Looking For

You will be confident building relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, have a customer focused approach and a keen eye for detail. You will be a collaborative team player who can use their initiative, respond positively to changing priorities and take a practical approach to supporting the smooth delivery of cruise operations.
The role requires some flexibility, as cruise vessel visits may take place at weekends or outside standard working hours. You should be comfortable adapting your working hours when needed to support operational requirements, with planning and coordination across the wider teams helping to minimise out of hours working wherever possible.
